Our tips for cold bathing
Autumn bathing spots along the Carinthian lakes provide revitalising moments in nature and make our lakes a year-round experience. You can glide slowly into the water and bravely dive into the refreshing blue at Panorama Beach in Drobollach on Lake Faak or at Bike Beach in St. Andrä on Lake Ossiach.
Time out in Carinthian means: immerse yourself to let go. Arrive in here and now and harmonise body, mind and soul. Recharge your batteries. The cold water brings you into the moment in a powerful yet gentle way. It invites you to be present in the now, to feel your body, to become the master of your mind and at the same time to let your soul relax.

Rules of behaviour for cold bathing
Personal responsibility is a top priority in cold bathing!

1. ONLY IF YOU ARE IN GOOD HEALTH
Cold bathing is just as strenuous as an intensive workout and
therefore only recommended if you are in good physical condition
(intact cardiovascular system, infections should be at least 1 week old).
2. LESS IS MORE
1-3 minutes are sufficient to trigger the health effects.
Hypothermia can also occur with a delay.
3. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
Don't force anything and don't compare yourself, everyone is different.
4. PREFERABLY IN PAIRS
Even better, go into the water as a group.
5. DO NOT JUMP IN
Give your body time to adapt to the cold by going in from the shore.
6. DO NOT GO INTO HIDING
The head is very sensitive to cold.
7. STAY NEAR THE SHORE
So you can get out of the water again at any time.
